Once there lived two young girls they were not only twins but identical twins. These two girls played outside all day until it was almost dark but one day they lost track of time and were so distracted by there games that they didn't realize it was already the time of night where no one dared to still be awake. They sung with joy and danced around until everything was still everything was quiet not a thing moved even the leaves above them didn't move an inch. They stood there like statues as the the cold wind finally came back from the stillness but still they didn't dear move. They'd heard stories people out at this time of night and they couldn't bare to see this thing face to face. The stories they heard were of a beast larger then the sun and its eyes redder then the roses laying dead on the floor, its teeth sharper then the sharpest knife as well as its long deadly claws Its name was The Expagera. The twins stood still until finally it was morning they ran straight home to their mother who held them tight in her arms she told to never stay out that late ever cause she knew if they ever did she'd never see her darling children again. That night was just a warning to them to never stay during the night because if they ever dared to do that again there was no coming back from it but I don't think they got the message. Even after that incident they went back out the next night to see the Expageras face, that was the biggest mistake they ever made. It started off peaceful and nice so they thought they were probably just fooled by the made up stories they'd been told. They were wrong these stories were as true they come. As the girls walked further and further away the beast was sneaking behind them without a clue they stopped and lay under the stars, they looked up into the starry night sky until the Expagera stood over them looking down in rage he roared "YOU SHOULD'VE STAYED HOME TODAY GIRLS" the girls screamed and got up to there feet as fast as possible but it was too late the beast already had them in its grasp. It held them so tight they there insides collapsed and that was the end of there life story but all the people in the town spoke about the girls they locked them selves in there houses and never came out because they were to afraid of the Expagera they knew killed those two sweet girls. Little did everyone know this was all a lie those two girls were still out there they had fooled everyone but one boy who went out looking for them. He had found them but now he was lost or should I say killed. Not killed by the Expagera or an animal or a beast but by those two girls everyone believed was dead but the truth is they were the beast but no one ever found out and when I say no one I mean it.

Sentences
I have been learning about sentences. When I write a story, I use simple sentences, compound sentences and complex sentences.
- A simple sentence tells 1 thing eg I am a girl. It starts with a capital letter and ends with a fullstop.
- A compound sentence tells 2 things. I am a girl and I am 9 years old. The 2 ideas are joined together to make a compound sentence by putting a joining word in the middle of the 2 ideas - and, but, then, so or because. A compound sentence also starts with a capital letter and ends with a fullstop.

The Regatta
On Wednesday, we went to watch the waka races. Every year, lots of schools in Ngaruawahia send teams of students to the Waikato River by the Turangawaewae Marae, to compete in waka races.
The water sparkled like diamonds. We stood at the top of a steep bank and looked down over a carpet of purple-flowered green plants.
A speeding boat left a wake of water behind it as it sped to the red buoys - the starting point of the races. The water rippled out towards the tree-lined banks and softly touched the shores.
